Deskripsi Toxic Parenting dan Pengaruhnya terhadap Kesehatan Mental menurut Mahasiswa Universitas X dalam Pandangan Islami

Toxic parenting is a parenting style that parents are reluctant to discuss or respect their child's decisions and feel that they are always right, without considering the future and feelings of their own children. Lately, there have been many news reports showing toxic parenting, such as parents beating their children or forcing their children to marry because of debts and receivables. In this study, researchers wanted to find out the description of toxic parenting according to students at Lambung Mangkurat University and its impact on mental health as well as an explanation of toxic parenting from an Islamic perspective. The research was conducted using mixed research methods of quantitative and qualitative research. The results of this research show that toxic parenting according to students at Lambung Mangkurat University is an unhealthy parenting pattern that is detrimental and dangerous because it hurts the child physically and psychologically. Children with toxic parenting tend to be silent, but at certain times they fight back by expressing excessive emotions. Meanwhile, in the Islamic perspective, toxic parenting is haram because parents have an obligation to look after and teach their children to differentiate between good and bad things with patience and love.
