LGBT DALAM PERSPEKTIF ISLAM: TINJAUAN LITERATUR

This article aims to illustrate the complexity of LGBT issues in Islam by detailing the various viewpoints that exist in the relevant literature. It is a literature review that can help readers understand the diversity of opinions on this issue and encourage deeper thinking about LGBT in an Islamic perspective. In recent decades, LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) issues have taken center stage in global society, including in the Islamic religious context. The issue has sparked complex debates about religious values, human rights, gender identity, and the right of individuals to live without discrimination. In an effort to provide greater insight into LGBT issues in Islam, this article is an in-depth and comprehensive review of the literature. LGBT issues in an Islamic perspective cover a wide range of elements, including religious views, causal factors, solutions, and legal actions according to the Quran. Within Muslim societies, views on LGBT vary significantly. Some Islamic scholars emphasize a strong affirmation against non-heterosexual sexual relationships, while others argue that Islam, at its core, does not condemn intimate relationships outside the heterosexual norm. In addition, a number of Muslim-majority countries have implemented laws that regulate homosexual activity with varying penalties, including the death penalty. However, there are also Muslim communities that support LGBT rights.
