Dampak Perilaku Masyarakat Dalam Pengelolaan Sampah Rumah Tangga Menggunakan Analisis Kompresi Terhadap Environment Health Risk Assessment

Increasing population means an increase in the amount of waste, because people continually use or make products whose use or production always generates waste. Besides causing environmental disasters, the behavior of littering can also lead to the spread of disease. Understanding community behavior in waste management is one way to address waste accumulation; by knowing how people store, dispose of, and process waste, we can learn the community’s attitudes toward waste. From these behaviors, the resulting impacts can be determined, whether environmental pollution or the emergence of diseases caused by generated waste. This study uses two methods: observation and questionnaire. Observation was carried out to determine community behavior in disposing and storing waste, while the questionnaire was administered so that residents could answer prepared questions to find out their responses or habits in waste management or regarding waste. Based on the research results, the community produces a large amount of both organic and inorganic waste; almost the entire community has not processed waste into usable materials or is not yet aware of the impacts of waste or still indifferent to it. On the other hand, the community is very concerned about their health because the waste they generate is routinely disposed of. From this point it can be said that the community is aware of their health and that waste can cause illnesses such as digestive disorders and skin diseases.
