Efektivitas Anti Biofilm Ekstrak Etanol Daun Bidara Terhadap Bakteri Staphylococcus aureus

This research aims to determine the effect of ethanol extract of bidara leaves on the degradation of S. aureus biofilms. This research is an experimental study with 7 treatment groups. KN (negative control given distilled water), KP (positive control, given Erythromycin), ethanol extract concentration treatment groups namely P1 60%, P2 70%, P3 80%, P4 90%, P5 100%. The research design used was 28 samples calculated using the Federer formula. The biofilm degradation test was carried out using the crystal violet binding assay technique. Data were analyzed using the Kruskal Wallis test with a p value of 0,005 (<0,05) which was significantly different and continued with the Mann-Whitney Post Hoc test. Biofilm degradation test results of bidara leaf ethanol extract at concentrations of 60%, 70%, 80%, 90% and 100% were able to degrade S. aureus bacterial biofilms up to 19,32%, 5,42%, 10,72%, 24,16% and 38,80%, in the positive control groups (erythromycin) it was 94,84% and in the negative control (distilled water) 0,00%. It can be concluded that the ethanol extract of bidara leaves (Z. mauritiana Lamm) is able to degrade S. aureus bacterial biofilms up to 38,80%.
